Couple Skis to Wedding Ceremony in Breckenridge

Today's post is all about Angela + Chris: Bride and Groom Ski to Wedding Ceremony in Breckenridge with images courtesy of Timothy Faust Photography. This bride and groom chose to take a few runs and enjoyed the snow at the Breckenridge Ski Resort before joining friends and family at the base village area. What a way to celebrate the day!

Destination Adventures for Colorado Weddings and Elopements

A few years we decorated a wedding venue at the base of the slopes. It was an 8am ceremony, which means we were on site at 6 am setting up. That made for an extremely early morning of getting up, going to the shop and then loading and unloading. All in time for the 8am start! And, afterwards the couple and family went skiing. Now, that's a great way to have a destination wedding in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Whether you want to ski to your wedding, or after your wedding, it's up to you. We're here to help you see it through. Please contact us to learn more about how we can customize a wedding package that is matched with photographers who can ski or ride with you, and others who are seasoned mountain wedding professionals and can anticipate the inclement weather and variables. Thanks for stopping by!

Chris and Angie had a really fun idea for a wedding: ski down from the top of Breckenridge Ski Area together to their ceremony at Mountain Thunder Lodge. Finding a photographer who was willing and able to go on that adventure with them could have been a challenge, so I am really glad they gave me a call.

Alison + Aaron: Fall Breckenridge Wedding at the Lodge and Spa

Fall Wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado

Today's post is all about Alison + Aaron: Fall Breckenridge Wedding at the Lodge and Spa with images courtesy of Timothy Faust Photography. We have worked with Tim over the years when we owned Petal and Bean, and it's no surprise to find his images on our blog. He does great work, and we're happy to share these images with you. You won't be disappointed in your images if you get to work with Tim. And, he's a Breck local, so he knows the best spots to catch the light around town. That's the beauty of working with locals. But, any good photographer will be able to anticipate light and make the best of what situation and setting they're in. That's what makes them professional. Ask us about creating a package with Tim or another local Summit County photographer.

Destination Wedding Venue: Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge

The Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge is found along the old railway, Boreas Pass, and overlooks the Blue River valley. It has one of the largest decks around, and it's perfect for outdoor ceremonies. And, if it's blustery out, you can always opt to have the ceremony inside. Panoramic views await you if you choose this spot as your venue. But, if this one is already booked, and you're looking for another, then please contact us to create a custom package, where we'll guide you on the best spot that will suit your wants and needs. Thanks for stopping by, and checking out our blog!

ALBUM STORY

I have known Alison for almost ten years. She had worked for the American Cancer Society which I volunteered to photograph their Hope on the Slopes Fundraiser in Breckenridge, Colorado for several years. I was delighted when she asked me to photographer her wedding this year. Alison and Aaron had a beautiful fall wedding on the back deck of the Lodge at Breckenridge overlooking the Ten Mile Range and Bald mountain. It was a gorgeous place for all the guests to watch the sunset from.

Breckenridge Wedding Dreams Come True [Testimonial]

Breckenridge Wedding Dreams Come True [Testimonial] | Image: Leisa Gibson Photography

Breckenridge Wedding Photography

Today's post is all about Breckenridge Wedding Dreams Come True, a Testimonial, with images courtesy of Leisa Gibson Photography. This is a blog post that shares the thanks from a happy bride that we helped plan her Breckenridge wedding. Christie and Jeff chose us to help them put together a fun day, filled with snow, family and love. They carefully walked down the path to an overlook at Sapphire Point. If you've never heard of this spot, it's one of the most popular outdoor ceremony spots in Summit County. But, it does come with some risk, as there isn't any back up building nearby. Most couples brave the elements and embrace the uncertainty and go for it anyway. Clouds look great in pics, by the way, so don't let a few of those stop you. And, you usually get enough of a window that a fast-moving storm will blow through and you can have your ceremony still. That kind of stuff is what we'll talk you through and help you think about.

Custom Breckenridge Wedding Packages

We have put together some ideas for destination weddings, elopements and vow renewals. It could be just the two of you, or it could be a smaller group than a big, traditional wedding that you're used to. We like to do it different here in the mountains, and if you're open to standing in the blowing wind, amongst trees and family, then we can talk and put together an unforgettable day. We know lots of venues, vendors and activities that will keep your guests talking for years.

It's quite convenient for families to meet here in the Rockies, with Denver International Airport being less than two hours away. Weekends and holidays bring crowds, and delayed travel times, but that's ok, because if you've never driven I-70, it's beautiful the whole way. If you gotta get stuck on a highway, it might as well be that one! Enough from me. Please click here to be in touch and start planning your dream. Thanks for stopping by and reading our Breckenridge wedding blog!

From the couple:

Dina, We cannot thank you enough for all you did for us for our wedding. It was absolutely magical!! Everything, and I mean everything, turned out just as we envisioned it would be!! The weather was perfect, Sapphire Point was amazing (even Jeff was so happy we decided to do it there), the tourists were respectful, Tonda did an exceptional job with my hair and makeup, Breck Hair Salon made me feel like a princess, Leslie did a great job with our ceremony and we loved how she included our boys during the ceremony, Leisa was just phenomenal and laid back and we can not wait to see her photos, and my flowers….oh my heavens, Petal and Bean made my bouquet dreams come true!! They were just stunning and exactly what I wanted. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our Colorado wedding could not have been more perfect. You all will hold a special place in our hearts, and one day we hope to call Colorado “home”.

Much love,

Christie and Jeff Mason

Kelsey + Matt: Breckenridge Winter Wedding at the Double Tree

Winter Wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado

Today's post is all about Kelsey + Matt: Breckenridge Winter Wedding at the Double Tree with images courtesy of  Katie Keighin Photography. It's in the thick of the hottest days in Breck right now, and will be cooling off soon. In about one month is when the golden trees typically peak. The aspen trees brilliant color last for a few weeks and then make way for the white gold that the mountain resorts of Summit County are known for. Then, you can plan a romantic winter wedding, elopement or vow renewal with the magic of snow everywhere. The crisp air is a faint memory at this exact moment, as the garden flowers are still blooming and summer adventures are still being planned. But, time goes by fast, and if you need help, as you don't have enough time to do all the research, then we can set you up with a custom wedding package that will solve a lot of your problems. We'll even figure out if you need a full-fledged planner or day of coordinator on site. Some do, but not everyone does.

Double Tree Wedding Reception Venue in Breck

Just a short walk or even shorter drive from downtown Breck, the DoubleTree is on the lower slopes of Peak 9. The Beaver Run chairlift is across the street, as well as the Quiksilver six pack. Peak 10 is right there, and during the summer you have access to the ski area road and Burro Trail. Not many venues in Breckenridge can provide this kind of location, nestled right in between the ski area and historic district that is filled with shops and restaurants. This venue has a shuttle that transports guests around, but it is walkable. The church is in the historic area too, so it's all pretty close together. It still helps to have someone on hand with the bigger parties, as in this feature. Please contact us to learn more about how we can help you best. Thanks for stopping by!

Kelsey and Matt met at an ugly sweater Christmas party in 2011. Kelsey is from Nashville, TN and Matt is from Ann Arbor, MI. In 2011, Kelsey was living in Birmingham, AL working at her first job out of college. During that time, Matt was working on his PHD at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. While studying at Vanderbilt, Matt joined a baseball league and met one of Kelsey's good friends. Christmas of 2011, Kelsey traveled home to Nashville and was invited that friends ugly sweater Christmas party. Kelsey and Matt met at this party and became instant friends.

At one point in the evening Matt borrowed Kelsey's phone and recorded over 2 hours of funny videos. Kelsey and Matt went on to be friends for almost a year, when Kelsey moved back home to Nashville for a different job. A group of friends invited both Matt and Kelsey on a group camping trip at a local lake and they hit it off. Later that month, they had their first kiss at a bar on Music Row in Nashville and have basically been together ever since. One of the guys that hosted the party where they met was a groomsmen in their wedding.

Two years later Kelsey and Matt had purchased a house in Nashville and had two dogs, a maltipoo that Kelsey had since college and a retriever mix they rescued together. Kelsey was out running errands early on a Sunday and when she came home, their dogs came running down the staircase with little signs around their necks. One of them said "will you marry dad" and the other said "say yes".

When Kelsey got to the top of the staircase, Matt was down on one knee. He asked Kelsey if she would marry him and of course, she said yes. Matt was so nervous that he couldn't stand back up and Kelsey had to kneel down herself to help him get the ring on her finger. Matt and Kelsey now have three dogs and recently relocated from Nashville, TN to St. Louis, MO.
