I searched for weeks for the perfect photographer for us in Colorado. There are many but I fortunately stumbled upon Summit mountain weddings. I was immediately drawn to their art. I knew they were it. Every single picture told a story. Shanna and Dave photographed/videoed our engagement session and then our wedding. Their personalities are amazing. Very genuine, sweet and just real as it gets type of people. The entire process was easy breezy and they customized what we wanted to do with no problems. We’ll email you the booking links for your review. Then, you’ll sign the contract & pay the 50% nonrefundable retainer.Creating your day.
We’ll then send you our planning questionnaire & exclusive vendor recommendation guide. Once you complete it, we’ll lock in the vendors you’ve added. Then we’ll chat locations, build your timeline, and count down the days until THE day.It’s here!

How much planning help do you provide?
Our included planning services are limited to location selection, timeline creation, and outside vendor recommendations.
How many guests can we invite?
Due to the nature of elopements and intimate weddings requiring flexibility, and also for ease and protection of many of favorite locations, our base collections have a max of 10 guests. Any guest lists over 10 may require a booked venue or private property with permissions for your ceremony, as well as an additional per person fee. Venue booking fees + permits are not included in collection pricing.
Can you Photoshop me to look…?
Short answer: No.
We take a minimal approach to editing your final gallery, focusing on coloring & small object removal. Final images are edited & delivered to you in the style that is consistent with the work shown on the website, our portfolio, and on our social media pages.
How do we receive our final images and video?
We upload all of your final/edited images, as well as your completed film, to an online gallery. From there, you may view, download, and share the images & film with friends and family.
When will we receive our final images?
A typical turnaround time for elopement images is anywhere between 8-10 weeks. If video is included in your collection it’s longer. Contractually, the delivery deadline is set at 5 months.
Is it more expensive for me to book my officiant & florist myself?
Yep, it can be. We’ve got exclusive partnerships with some of the best vendors in the area, which can mean better rates for you & more open availability than if you were to handle it all yourself.
I already have a photographer. Can I still book you for planning?
Nope. Our collections are first photography collections - the planning services we provide are available only together with photography.
Can I have a reception, too?
Sure! It’s your day! If you want photos of it, let’s chat about how that looks for your timeline.
Can you send me your super secret favorite vendors list?
Our vendor list is an exclusive bonus for our booked clients, so as soon as you book with us, you’ll get it!
What if it rains?
Then we embrace it! We always recommend coming up with a solid backup plan. We’ll help with that! Even if we find ourselves stuck outside in a little rain, it’s said to be good luck and we have cool clear umbrellas that make for some beautiful photos.
Can I re-edit the images or video after you deliver them?
No, re-edits are not allowed. We maintain all copyright to the images and video files, and provide you with personal printing and online sharing rights.
Why is the retainer nonrefundable?
The retainer locks in your date, making sure you’re the only one we’re celebrating with on your elopement day! Beyond that, your retainer covers booking your vendors and the time spent planning your day - researching locations, communication with you and vendors, and creating your general timeline.
We want to hike for our elopement location. Can we?
YES! Based on the hike length, we can help you choose the perfect amount of coverage hours to make sure we’re not rushed. We don’t, however, specialize in multi-day backpacking trips or hikes over 3 miles.
I’m not really in great shape, but I still want some epic views - can we make that happen?
You bet! We want you to feel comfortable, safe, and have fun! We’ve got lots of epic views and spots to share just a few steps off the nearest parking lot.
How far in advance should we book?
Honestly? As soon as you’re ready! Simply put, booking early guarantees your date & gives us more time to pull all the details together!
That said - we’ve been known to pull off a great elopement day in less than 2 weeks, so no matter your timing, reach out to chat over the details!

To officially book, we ask for two things:
the signed contract and a non-refundable payment of 50%, which is be applied to the total collection price.
Trying to plan a wedding in Colorado while being in Europe seemed impossible. I am still incredibly grateful to have found Summit Mountain Weddings! The information on their website and social media was telling enough about how professional they are and that they take their work seriously and yet somehow made it really fun for me!
What really put me at ease from the start, was the responsiveness to each and every one of my emails. Shanna really made sure to answer all of my questions and concerns. The questionnaire that they send before starting the actual planning is really fun and straight to the point.
When our special day actually came, everything was perfect! The location was spectacular and the flowers were beautiful. Dave and Shanna immediately made us feel comfortable and we felt like we just had a few friends join our elopement. They even brought a blanket for us, as it was quite a cold day!
Our day could not have been any better, we made memories that we will cherish forever and the video and gorgeous photos that were made by Shanna and Dave that day are just gonna help us re-live that day!
