Couple Skis to Wedding Ceremony in Breckenridge

Today's post is all about Angela + Chris: Bride and Groom Ski to Wedding Ceremony in Breckenridge with images courtesy of Timothy Faust Photography. This bride and groom chose to take a few runs and enjoyed the snow at the Breckenridge Ski Resort before joining friends and family at the base village area. What a way to celebrate the day!

Destination Adventures for Colorado Weddings and Elopements

A few years we decorated a wedding venue at the base of the slopes. It was an 8am ceremony, which means we were on site at 6 am setting up. That made for an extremely early morning of getting up, going to the shop and then loading and unloading. All in time for the 8am start! And, afterwards the couple and family went skiing. Now, that's a great way to have a destination wedding in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Whether you want to ski to your wedding, or after your wedding, it's up to you. We're here to help you see it through. Please contact us to learn more about how we can customize a wedding package that is matched with photographers who can ski or ride with you, and others who are seasoned mountain wedding professionals and can anticipate the inclement weather and variables. Thanks for stopping by!

Chris and Angie had a really fun idea for a wedding: ski down from the top of Breckenridge Ski Area together to their ceremony at Mountain Thunder Lodge. Finding a photographer who was willing and able to go on that adventure with them could have been a challenge, so I am really glad they gave me a call.

Summit County, Colorado Romantic Winter Getaway

Today's post is all about Alisha + Alex: Keystone Resort Engagement Photography with images courtesy of Dan Hand Photography. This couple made it a priority to visit Keystone, Colorado for their engagement photography session, and not too far away was Sapphire Point, an overlook an outdoor wedding ceremony location. There's a short walking loop that is about a mile near the overlook, so after your photos, wedding or vow renewal, you can take a stroll and see the geography of where three rivers meet, the Snake, Blue, and Ten Mile Creek, and are now where Dillon Reservoir gets its water. It freezes over in the winter, as you can see in these pics.

Engagement Photography at the Keystone Resort

We recommend the River Run Village in Keystone for a fun mountain base setting, or take the gondola up and have dinner at the Alpenglow Stube or Der Fondue Chessel at Timber Ridge on North Peak. Top it off with a sleigh ride during the winter, or downhill mountain bike ride in the summer. Winter is our favorite, for many reasons, and night skiing is just one of them. After smiling and posing for pics all day, have a hearty dinner before bundling up for the nighttime adventure of riding under the lights. You'll rely on your ability to absorb and read the terrain by feel more than by your eyes. Wear a helmet, drink hot cocoa and have some fun! Please contact us to learn more about how we can set up a photo shoot, destination elopement, wedding or vow renewal!

Alex and Alisha live in Omaha and frequently travel to Colorado to ski each winter. While visiting Keystone in February they wanted to have engagement photos taken after a day on the slopes. They had tons of chemistry and it really showed on camera. The weather was perfect.

A Powder Day on Peak 6 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort [Video]

A-Powder-Day-on-Peak-6-at-the-Breckernidge-Ski-Resort-e1428967381831.jpg

Powder Skiing in Breckenridge

It's the last week of the ski season, so that means I'm looking back at one of my favorite clips from this past winter, A Powder Day on Peak 6 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, a video by Stacy Sanchez. For now, we should all be happy for the snow that we got and the times we had on the mountain. But, we're definitely looking forward to next season already. There are so many lines just waiting for us to come back. There are many lifetimes of adventures at the world-class ski areas. And soon it will be hiking and biking season in the high hills.

Summer Weddings in the Colorado Mountains

Many say that you come for the winters and stay for the summers, and the cliche is true. The warmer, not-so-snowy months above 10,000 feet are downright glorious. Hot, sunny days, and afternoon thunderstorms are a welcome change to frigid winds and cold snow. Gardeners attempt to grow things in the few short weeks, and the tourists come back to explore all the mountains have to offer, besides skiing. One of those things includes having a wedding.

Bring the fam and invite the friends to join you for a few stellar days for a Breckenridge wedding adventure. There are no guarantees that it won't rain on your day, in fact, I'll be the first to tell you that it probably will rain. At some point. But, it usually blows out pretty quickly, so just have a back up plan and don't overthink it. Please contact us to learn more about how our team can help you save time and money with a custom wedding package that's right for you.

Elk Preserve: Backcountry Nordic Skiing in Keystone, Colorado [Video]

Elk-Preserve-Backcountry-Nordic-Skiing-in-Keystone-Colorado-e1426121781250.jpg

Part of the allure of having a winter wedding in Colorado is the skiing, and that's why I'm sharing this video about the "Elk Preserve: Backcountry Nordic Skiing in Keystone, Colorado." It's an amazing set of neighborhood trails that end up reaching all the way to Breckenridge. The Colorado Trail even crosses by at a few places. Sections lead towards the Keystone Ski Resort, or stick to the ones off the beaten path. If you're looking for a non-aggressive outdoor winter experience, and have some skiing ability, then you'll enjoy the challenge of cross country skiing. As long as you have a strong snow plow and can turn, then you should be ok. Please contact us to learn more about all the different activities, options and secret stashes that you won't find anywhere else.

Turk's Trail: Backcountry Nordic Skiing in Breckenridge Colorado [Video]

Turks-Trail-Backcountry-Nordic-Skiing-in-Breckenridge-Colorado.jpg

This vlog (video blog) is about Turk's Trail: Backcountry Nordic Skiing in Breckenridge Colorado. I see lots of images from photographers and couples that seem to go to the downtown area, and maybe outside the venue for a few pics. If you have time and want an adventure, you should head over to the Town of Breckenridge trail system to explore some areas that are truly unique. Downtown classics include the Snowplow Rotary Park, the Blue River Plaza by the Riverwalk Center, and the oldest bar west of the Mississippi, the Gold Pan. Sallie Barber Mine: Cross Country Skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado

Sallie-Barber-Mine-Cross-Country-Skiing-in-Breckenridge-Colorado.jpg

A short drive from our house is a classic winter destination activity, the Sallie Barber Mine: Cross Country Skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado is the subject of my first video using my new GoPro camera. I've studied the helmet cams for years, and this camera has evolved to include an app, a touchscreen, and a plethora of accessories to customize where and how you use the camera. I look forward to creating videos about other family outings and activities, as well as Colorado wedding venues, ceremony and location spots that you just can't visualize from a magazine, or even still images on a website.

This is our efforts evolving, and that means showing what it means to live the Breck life and have fun and go skiing. We love the downhill experience at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, or even the groomed trails of the Breckenridge Nordic Center, but there's nothing like driving 5 minutes up the road to a backcountry ski on an old mining road by the dredge piles in French Gulch.

And if we know this much about trails, just imagine how much we know about the different venues, homes and locations for weddings up here. It's not easy, and it all takes time. Please contact us to learn how we can help best.
