EagleVail Pavilion Wedding

Today's post shares the story of Kaylee + Dano: Colorado Wedding at the EagleVail Pavilion, with images courtesy of Autumn Twilight Photography. The more and more I work on this blog, I find out new places for mountain love, including this pavilion in EagleVail. I am in Breckenridge, so I appreciate when photographers share the stories from the Vail Valley area. Submit yours via Two Bright Lights today!

Avon, Colorado Wedding Venue

Just after you head west from Vail, you'll pass EagleVail on the way to Avon. To see where the EagleVail Pavilion is on a map, click here. It looks like a sweet set up with a nearby pond, a firepit and a lawn that can be used for ceremonies. It doesn't look like any linens are supplied, so you'll want to invest in those. Linens are actually a great way to add impact and carry the theme over into any room. If all of this is starting to sound like a bit much to think about, and you'd like a custom wedding package that takes care of it all, then please contact us to learn more about how we can help you save time and money while planning the wedding of your dreams. Yes, you can live your dream of getting married in the Vail Valley, without all the stress.

Eagle, Colorado Wedding Venue

A private country club and golf course facility is the location for today's post, Jessica + Kevin: Eagle, Colorado Wedding at Adam's Rib Ranch, with images courtesy of Captivated Photography. I should start by saying that this venue has been purchased and renamed Frost Creek. I had to inquire to ensure that this venue was still offered as a ceremony and reception location, and I received the answer that it was, however it was subject to the club's schedule. So, if it's meant to be, then it will work out for you. Otherwise, please contact us to let us help you customize a wedding package in the Vail Valley at another location.

Here's a link to where the venue is located, and here's how their new website describes the setting:

Nestled in the secluded Brush Creek Valley just west of Vail, CO, Frost Creek offers easy access to everything you have come to expect for your time spent in the Rocky Mountains.  While located just 10 minutes from the Eagle/Vail airport and I-70, Frost Creek is surrounded by thousands of acres of federal and state protected land creating a pristine setting for numerous seasonal activities.

Vail Valley Elopements, Engagements and Vow Renewals

You've probably heard of Vail before, and possibly Beaver Creek too, but did  you know that there are other mountain towns nearby that would be perfect for a destination wedding in the Colorado Rocky Mountains? It's true. Nearby areas include Vail, Avon, Minturn, EagleVail, Edwards, Eagle, Gypsum and Wolcott. Not all are as fancy as Vail and Avon, but that's ok, because not everyone needs or wants that. If you do, we know of some posh locations like SaddleRidge and the Westin in Avon. But, we'll save those descriptions for another post. In the meantime, we'll get you started with some eye candy from an event in Eagle. Scroll down and enjoy, and send us any questions about this or any of the weddings, elopements or venues you see here on our blog.

If I could capture a year’s worth of happiness in a jar, it wouldn’t even compare to how happy I felt on my wedding day! It was truly the happiest day of my life! We got engaged on April 11, 2013 and got married on September 20, 2014. After tossing around a few different wedding ideas, we decided on a beautiful fall wedding in the Rocky Mountains. This is where we fell in love. This is where we call home.

Our wedding took place at Adams Rib Ranch in Eagle, Colorado. We did the ceremony on the 10th fairway. Cocktail hour featured our two favorite cocktails with live music on the deck, and a full on dance party pretty much sums up the reception. The whole day was stunning and magical in every way possible. I did the majority of planning on my own, with help from my handsome groom.

We wanted our wedding to reflect “us” as much as possible. So, we settled on a Rustic Glam theme… rustic, natural Colorado with a hint of sparkle. We didn’t want to take away from the natural beauty of the setting, so our neutral color palette was a perfect choice for our already gorgeous venue. We chose the people we love most, family, to be in our wedding party.

Our splurge worthy, elevated bar food menu included authentic Mexican tacos and salsas, a variety of sliders and fries, and street food. On the dessert menu were homemade pies, local gelato, and mochi. Late night snacks of warm donuts and s’mores were also served. The day started a bit mellower though. I woke up in my own bed and went on a long, calming run before the sun came up.

I met my girls at the hair studio for a few hours of pampering to get gorgeous. The groom spent the morning playing golf, napping by the pool, and taking a ride in our “Corvette for the Day.” The moment I remember most is when my dad came to get me before the ceremony. He told me how great it is to have a life partner, someone to witness your life and your successes. He told me the day to day things are what make a happy marriage.

I wasn’t nervous all day long until I stepped onto grass, before walking down the aisle. Heels sinking into the grass, my arms shaking, and the hot sun beating on my face were all unique details of the day that I’ll never forget. It was nothing short of perfection, even with its imperfections. When we were planning our wedding, we wanted people to remember a gorgeous setting, delicious food, and a fun party!

The local two person band and the phenomenal DJ Rock City helped us make it the best party we’d ever been to. The dance floor was packed all night. Our throw back Polaroid Cameras were making the rounds. And, the bride was having too much fun to even eat dessert! Many of the ideas that brought our wedding together came from Pinterest.

While it was overwhelming, it was such a helpful tool. Once I realized that I could never actually do the few thousand pins on my wedding board though, I created a second wedding board with only pins from my first wedding board. This was a “secret board” with the ideas I loved most! One of my favorite decorating ideas was the glittered wood “cookies” that my mom, aunt, and I spent hours painting and glittering in my parents backyard.

Also, the bible verses hung on the chairs, down the aisle were a special touch that brought the religious piece that was important to us.If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. The planning was so much fun. The events leading up to “the day” were so special, and we’re still talking about how our wedding day was the best day of our lives!

5 Scenic Drives in the Colorado High Country

Take a Drive in the Rocky Mountains

Not everyone is super active, and we understand that. Sometimes it's good to be able to get in the car and explore the mountains with a good group of friends. Or, maybe you need a solo mission to get away for a few hours. Whatever your reason is, we've got a few suggestions for you in today's post, 5 Scenic Drives in the Colorado High Country. Let someone know where you're going and when you'll be back, pack a lunch or stop along the way if your route takes you to a mountain town with some options. Don't expect places to be open super early or super late, as things tend to run on "mountain time" 'round these parts.

Activity Planning for Breckenridge Weddings

You could take these suggestions and incorporate them into your wedding week, or bookmark this post and plan on a follow up trip to drive the ones you missed. Get a map and check out and see if there are any hiking trails that you might want to check out. Drive carefully, be patient with others on the road (they're probably sight seeing too), and be sure to take lots of pics and tag us in a few if you are inspired by this post. We like to use the hashtag, #breckweddings on Instagram, so use that there if you gram. Thanks for reading and please contact us with any questions or comments.

1 - Boreas Pass Road to the Section House

This mountain road closes down in the winter, but not before becoming the go-to spot for leaf peeping near Breckenridge. You can walk this road, but expect to get dusted by cars. Go early or late to avoid the crowds. Weekends are especially busy. Hint, there are other trails in the area for the golden aspens, but take the road past the yellow leaves on up to the Section House. There you'll see some restored cabins and a section of train, as this was actually an old railroad route.

5 Scenic Drives in the Colorado High Country

2 - Hoosier Pass to South Park City

Head south from Breckenridge past the Breckenridge Brewery and drive over Hoosier Pass to Alma, and then on to Fairplay. There you'll find a collection of buildings in a historic park called Old South Park City. Wander around and imagine what it was like to be up in these mountains, away from your friends and family, trying to strike it rich. There's even a sign there that references that funny cartoon on the tv, because South Park is a real place. This is it.

5 Scenic Drives in the Colorado High Country

3 - Fremont Pass to Leadville

Head west on I-70 from Frisco, and go through scenic Ten Mile Canyon. Take the Copper Mountain exit and head south. You'll pass the Climax molybdenum mine along the way to Colorado's highest incorporated city, Leadville. The highest incorporated town is Alma. Both these mountain towns reside at over 10,000 feet. Neither is a ski town, so they have their own unique feel to them. Hang out in a bar for a beverage to meet a local character or two.

4 - Vail Pass to Beaver Creek

A variation on driving west from Frisco is to keep going on I-70 past Copper Mountain towards Vail. You'll crest Vail Pass, a popular recreation area both summer and winter. There is a fee during the winter, so be aware if you plan to stop. There is a decent restroom at the pass, and it's an excellent spot for viewing wildflowers on Shrine Ridge.

5 Scenic Drives in the Colorado High Country

5 - Loveland Pass to Georgetown

Head towards Keystone and keep going past Arapahoe Basin and drive over Loveland Pass. If you do this during the summer, you can get out and hike the alpine tundra for a unique mountain experience. No trees and little air, your breath will be taken away if it hasn't already. Drop down and head towards Georgetown on I-70. There's a nice visitor's center there as a pit stop before heading to Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs on your way to Denver, or come back and maybe try out the new Baker's Brewery in Silverthorne. That's a full day. If you have any suggestions for a drive, please contact us to share your tip!

Beaver Creek, Colorado Wedding

The mountain town of Avon is the location for today's post, Ashley + Brett: Colorado Mountain Wedding at the Beaver Creek Lodge, with  images courtesy of Urban Safari Photography, Ltd. There are a few towns in the Vail Valley, Vail being the most obvious, but Avon is the town that might be better known as the home of the Beaver Creek Ski Area, a Vail Resorts property. There are a few ski clubs tucked in on the mountain that host weddings, but this venue was located at the base of the ski area. And, for the majority of your guests who have never visited a ski area, Beaver Creek is a high-end experience that puts on a pretty good show during the summer too.

Elope or Plan a Destination Wedding in the Vail Valley

Planning a wedding in these smaller mountain towns isn't easy, so if you'd like some help, then you should check out our custom wedding packages that help you elope to Colorado in the winter, or can go full-service, matching you with a planner and day of coordinator, if requested. You can spend time surfing the web for all of these vendors, or you can work with longtime locals in the Colorado Rockies that have over 1,000 weddings and 20 years of experience. That's why we built this blog, to help you save time and money, while showing off all the fun places in and around the Breckenridge area. Please contact us to learn more about how we can help you. Thanks for reading!

Ashley + Brett were married in Avon, Colorado, at the Beaver Creek Lodge this past September. They started their day getting ready in two spacious suites at the lodge. Ashley and her girls sipped on champagne while the Oklahoma football game played on in the background (Ashley is a huge Sooners fan).

Brett, meanwhile, spent the day with his groomsmen playing golf and gifted them classy watches as their groomsmen gifts. Once everyone was ready to roll, we headed up the ski lift to do the first look at the top of a mountain amidst a sparkling grove of aspen trees.

The ceremony, officiated by Big Ed Culver, a very close + dear family friend, took place at a bridge (which doubles as a ski bridge in the winter, which Ashley and Brett thought was a neat tie into their personalities as they are both big skiers) at the base of the mountain on the Beaver Creek Lodge property.

Hanging lanterns dazzled overhead the guests (who were also greeted with champagne and wine) and baby’s breath lined the monogrammed burlap aisle. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect; just a touch of clouds that provided for soft, diffused light.Guests then headed to the cocktail reception, which was followed by a smores bar near the open fire pit on the patio of the Beaver Creek Lodge.

Ashley and Brett went for a soft pink theme for their table décor, accented by hydrangeas, Kiera blush garden roses and more baby’s breath. Small tea light candles lined the tables. The Beaver Creek Lodge, known for its modern art gallery in its building, was transformed with silver drapery. For their reception entertainment, the bride and groom chose a favorite local band, the Foxfield Four to rock out for the guests. At one point, Ashley even took over for their drummer for a portion of a song.

Winter Wedding in Beaver Creek, Colorado

Today's blog post is all about Kate + AJ, a Beaver Creek Wedding at Beano's Cabin, with images courtesy of Brinton Studios. This is one magical place that arranges transportation for vendors and guests via snowcat and sled. Starry skies in the air, and the crisp crunch of snow underfoot created the atmosphere for guests attending this winter wedding. The ride to the venue alone will have guests talking for months. It's an exclusive ski club on Beaver Creek Mountain, if you're unfamiliar with Beano's.

Vail Valley Elopement, Engagement and Vow Renewals

Ski resorts are really nice for Summer weddings, but the heart of mountain people opt for the adventure wedding. Winter brings on a whole set of planning factors that can be worked out, so let us know if you need help from Colorado mountain locals who can help you plan a fun elopement, engagement, vow renewal or destination wedding in the mountain towns of the Vail Valley. That really includes the areas surrounding too, as this Colorado wedding blog is designed to cover the hard-to-find-info places like huts, yurts, ranches and more. It all takes time, so don't waste any and contact us to learn how we can help you best!

Wow did we luck out! You never know what personalities will come out on a wedding day, but Kate and AJ were the most laid back and fun couples we have been around in a long time. We hope we can remain friends with these guys for life. Now, if only they lived in Colorado. For now, we will have to settle for drinks after a Rockies and Diamondbacks’ game. Kara with Love this day events and Caitlin with Vintage Magnolia wowed us yet again with their design details. This was the first time we had the pleasure of shooting a candlelit entrance to a evening church ceremony. Absolutely stunning and great idea Kara. As usual, Beano’s Cabin spoiled everyone with a great backdrop and amazing food and Scott, John and Michael from the Scott Rednor band kept everyone dancing all night long. We couldn’t be happier to have been a part of this festive event with such great people and we look forward to seeing the video from the ever fabulous K Hodge Films.

Colorado Wedding Venues: Avon & EagleVail Pavilions

Vail Valley Wedding Package

We are always finding out about different options for Summit County and Vail Valley, and that includes Colorado Wedding Venues, the Town of Avon's Harry A. Nottingham Park Pavilion and the EagleVail Pavilion. Just west of Vail proper are a string of smaller villages and towns that stretch along for a few more miles. Warmer temps are usually found in the lower elevation, as well as alternative venues like these are hard to find.

Ask us how we can help connect the dots on all your wedding details, from venue to planner, photographers, DJ's and more. Find packages and vendors. Live your dreams. Sometimes a traditional venue isn't for you, and if that's the case, let us know if we can work in these locations into your custom wedding package.

A Vail Mountain Wedding

In this video, we're sharing the preview of a wedding film by Trystan Photography, and it's a feature of Jessica and Coe's wedding at Vail Mountain and the Sebastian Hotel. The views at the Vail Wedding Deck are something that you've seen if you're a skier, but if your guests have never been to Blue Sky or any of the winter opportunities at Vail, then this is one way to share that view with them. Then, they will realize why you chose to marry at this spot.

Location is Everything

Vail is right around the corner from Breck. Just 15 minutes west of Breckenridge is Copper Mountain, and another 15 or so beyond that is the Vail Valley. So, these mountain valleys are really close together and are less than an hour's drive during the summer. Winter is a whole other animal, as you have to go over Vail Pass, which can shut down for hours at a time if inclement weather or accidents are present. Please contact us to learn more about planning a destination wedding in Vail.
