Cannabis and Colorado Mountain Weddings

Marijuana is legal in Colorado now, and I asked Colorado Cannabis Florist, Buds 'n Blossoms, a few questions in today's post, Peonies + Pot: Florist Uses Marijuana for Colorado Mountain Weddings. There's a time and a place for everything, so as long as you have your bases covered and have done your homework, there's an opportunity for guests and visitors to try and enjoy recreational marijuana. You can even visit a few different shops on your own, or ask us how we can set up a tour of breweries, restaurants, and cannabis dispensaries. You can't smoke in public and definitely not behind the wheel. Just like drinking, you need a sober driver at all times. Ask us how we can set up a shuttle and take care of that for you.

Floral Designs and Decor. That you can smoke later.

Floral designs are now being infused with cannabis and brides and grooms that enjoy the lifestyle might want to share some of these unusual elements with their guests that evening. I would say that that's a double whammy of being green, by recycling the decor for consumption and by supporting local Colorado ganjapreneurs. And one facet of the marijuana industry is the slowly emerging evidence and trends of how couples will enjoy cannabis on their day. Buds 'n Blossoms were excited about recent designs that "even had a bowl tied on one side, a lighter and rolling papers tied to the other side, a cannabis jar and cannabis included in the mini arrangements."

Question: What would say are the upcoming trends?

- I think that it will become more and more popular especially as it becomes more widely accepted

- some weddings are not having alcohol at their weddings, only cannabis

- keeping the scene under control thru moderation, similar to drink ticket idea, allowing guests to indulge without misusing or abusing cannabis

- cannabis themed weddings seem to be on a smaller scale than the traditional weddings. After all, cannabis is a little more costly than alcohol, but beautifully it takes less to get the job done

Mountain Town: Breckenridge, Colorado [Video]

Mountain-Town-Breckenridge-Colorado.jpg

One of my goals with starting Summit Mountain Weddings was to share videos about the fabulous places, including my home, Mountain Town: Breckenridge, Colorado, which I made this video to show you a glimpse of what our Victorian mining abode is like. The Utes called this place home for many thousands of years, but when gold was mentioned at a bar in Kansas, the gold rush was on. Miners staked claims in the valleys and one even found the biggest chunk of gold ever found in Colorado, Tom's Baby. The downtown area is a historic set of buildings, while the ski runs of the Breckenridge Ski Resort loom over town. Chairlifts and the Breck Connect Gondola stretch from the valley floor to Peaks 8 and 9, eventually connecting with the highest chairlift in North America, the Imperial Chair. This flying couch brings you steps away from the summit of Peak 8.

Breckenridge is perfect for outdoor lovers, bridging the gap between posh mountain living and world-class skiing. Ask us about the many private luxury homes that scatter the hillsides, as well as non-traditional venues and outdoor spaces. We work with many vendors, venues and services to create custom wedding packages that end up saving you time and money. Contact us to learn more!

Using Workflowy and Online Tools to Plan Your Destination Wedding

Planning a wedding requires organizing lots of people and details, so that's why I wrote today's post about Using Workflowy and Online Tools to Plan Your Destination Wedding. No matter how small the wedding, there's always something important to keep track of. We used Minigroup while running Petal and Bean and coordinating flowers and planning. But, now there are other platforms that do similar function without the mini social network feel of the Minigroup.

Inspiration >> Wedding Blogs and Magazines

You can always start the good ol' fashioned way and pick up a few wedding magazines at Barnes and Noble or similar location. Check out the wedding planning aisle or just go online and see what they have. Either way, there are plenty of books that can inspire you with weddings with different colors, styles and at various locations. Atmosphere creates experience.

There are lots of national magazines that over style and overall planning tips. Regional print publications aren't comprehensive and can contain outdated information. Refer to online resources found in print to cross reference availability, new offerings, current specials and links to social profiles.

Organization >> New Media Technology

Most of these platforms run "in the cloud" and sync with all your devices, offering real-time updates and cross-collaboration. What does that mean? It means someone working on finding you a cake maker can cross that off the virtual list you make and let you know about it. It's about having access to the information you need, regardless of where you're at and the device you use.

For example, you can upload files, create folders for pictures, text documents, PDF's and other information regarding the planning of your event. You can share information with select individuals that you trusting to help you plan.

Personalization >> Social Media

A fun part of wedding planning is choosing who will be with you on your journey. Get to know vendors through recommendations from other vendors, online resources and their websites. There you should be able to find links to their social profiles on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and Google+. Create circles on the plus, lists on Twitter, and public or secret pinboards, which can all be shared in a private Facebook group. Use a special hashtag and share photos on Instagram. Make your media social with these platforms. Thanks for reading and happy planning!
