Colorado Engagement Photography

Today's post is all about Kira + David: Colorado Engagement Photography in Fort Collins, with images courtesy of Galles Photography. The front range cities and towns don't have the high alpine terrain of Breckenridge and Summit County, but surprisingly there are some very technical and rocky sections around Horsetooth Reservoir and the foothill trails. Boulder is another favorite front range destination with close access to lofty perches and views. If you had an engagement session in that kind of terrain and want to share with us, please visit this page to learn about submitting your event to our Colorado mountain wedding blog.

Kira and David met in the Geology program of Colorado State University. Their relationship has included many geologic traits. Their proposal occurred when David put together a personalized Geocache - a treasure hunt done with a GPS unit. He had a custom ring molded and made for Kira that suited her personality and hiked to the mountains weeks before he popped the question. He then set a point in the Geocache GPS to bring her right to the ring. They went on a hike for their Geocache and when they got the ring location, he had her retrieve the ring from under some rocks while he got down on one knee.

Kira and David wanted their engagement session to be personal and unique. So we did the session on their private property in the foothills of Fort Collins. Their property overlooked the city and had unique trees and rocks to provide a great location for their session. We even had a herd of deer crash the party. We used their engagement photos to make some custom Save the Date cards which included a topographic map of their property as a background.
