Colorado Mountain Wedding
A couple that currently live on the East Coast, yet met in Colorado, returned to exchange vows in today's post, Kelly + Mike: Della Terra Chateau Wedding in Estes Park, Colorado with images courtesy of Callie Riesling Photography. And, as you can see from the umbrellas in this set of photos, the infamous afternoon showers passed through. The guests were prepared for the light rain with umbrellas and the ceremony continued.
Della Terra Chateau, Estes Park Event Venue
The bride and groom probably chose this venue for its outdoor ceremony space, and I applaud any couple that dares to add the adventure element to the big day. Some spaces have back up options for stormy weather, while others don't have any other options. Take wool blankets, umbrellas and even having a few heat packs handy to keep hands warm can go a long way for the comfort of your guests. Ceremonies tend to be short these days, and unless it's an outright downpour, you should be ok waiting out a passing sprinkle. Or just go for it, like this couple did.

Mike and Kelly were married at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park, CO. Mike and Kelly both attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and became pilots. They decided to come back to Colorado for their wedding although they are both stationed on the East Coast! Mike and Kelly were engaged in an airplane so they wanted to put a little aviation flare into the wedding, without letting it take over! Since they are both stationed on the East Coast, they had to plan from afar so we got a lot of ideas from pinterest and Etsy. They used a lot of to burlap, lace, leather, and antiquing to keep it soft and romantic against the aviation details.
