Colorado Rocky Mountain Weddings
We try to focus on the Breckenridge area, but sometimes we get a submission from a gorgeous mountainous location that we just can't say no to, and that's today's photoblog, Jessie + Steve: Lookout Mountain Wedding in Golden, Colorado, with images courtesy of Elevation 9 Photography. As far as cities go, Denver and its suburbs are pretty neat and there are some Front Range venues like Lookout Mountain, that have that authentic Colorado Rocky Mountain feeling.
Logistics and Planning are Important
Actually, quite a few Denver wedding professionals travel regularly to the private homes, lodges and venues in Summit County and the Vail Valley. Just make sure they're planning plenty early to avoid summer traffic that starts on fairly early on Friday and Saturday. We recommend communicating travel plans well in advance so that your band doesn't get stuck on I-70. It's happened. True story.

This June Colorado wedding was one of my favorite wedding party portrait sessions I have ever experienced. Not only were we on the very outer edge of a massive thunderstorm and racing against the clock, the wedding group could not have been a cooler group to work with. In some of the early portrait images, you can see the rain drops as the storm began to build. However, after a frantic 10 minutes of shooting, the storm miraculously stalled and allowed for everyone to take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. What I thought would be a washout, turned into a 45 minute scenic photo session with no rain and plenty of time to get formal shots along with candid and fun images.
