Wooded Hillside and Lake Setting in California
The first same-sex wedding is from the nuptials of Nina + Katie: Roaring 20's Themed Wedding in California, with images courtesy of Miki Vargas Photography. The setting was the largest natural lake in Mendocino County, in the wooded hillsides of California. Perhaps these two will choose the Breckenridge and Summit County area for a future vow renewal.
Love is love
I accepted this wedding as a submission more for the fun theme of the "Roaring 20's" than the same-sex factor. We helped a celebrity plan a wedding at the Keystone Resort that had a 50's theme and we even did milkshake flower arrangements! Other fun themes we've seen over the years include the couple's ethnicities and even sports and athletic endeavors. One wedding we decorated was for a librarian who included stacks of books as part of her table centerpieces and decor. Please contact us to learn more about creating a fun mountainside gathering that helps share your love.
Venue: Leonard Lake Reserve
Location: Redwood Valley, CA
When we arrived at the property we could not believe our eyes. Leonard Lake is the largest natural lake in Mendocino County, and sits in the heart of rare old growth fir and redwood groves; truly a magical place.
Nina & Katie had a Roaring 20s themed wedding which was inspired in part by Katie's grandmothers wedding of the same era. The decor, details, and attire made for countless amazing photo ops and a cohesive celebration amongst such beautifully aged trees. It was almost as if we had actually taken a step back in time and witnessed a fairy tale love story.
