Using Hashtags at your Wedding

Hashtag Infographic for Blog Post This has been a big week for popular social media. Instagram jumped on the video bandwagon and Facebook started making hashtags searchable. Social media can work to your advantage for your big day. Think about being on your honeymoon and being able to instantly see how your wedding attendants enjoyed your wedding. Using hashtags has become increasingly popular at weddings that I've been to this year. Couples will post a sign at the entrance of the ceremony, reception, or have the hashtag somewhere on the program. I've even seen it on the save the dates and invitations so that the wedding party knows to use the same hashtag so the couple can have see the fun pictures from the bachelor and bachelorette party as well. It's a good idea to pick one early in planning and use it after your engagement through the big day.

A Keystone Ranch wedding last weekend came up with a very clever hashtag to use at their wedding: #teamchetlyn (the grooms name is Chet and the brides name Katelyn). Throughout the night, guests posted pictures using the hashtag, which gives the couple a nice way to quickly see images of their big day. Even the photographer, Kim with Bride-and-Joy Photography out of New York, joined in on the hashtag fun by posting one of her post-processed images after the wedding.
