[Mountain Town] Breckenridge, Colorado // Real mountain town, unreal skiing

If you've found this website, it's very likely it's because you're researching possible destinations for your wedding.  This blog will help you learn all about the different towns that lie in, or are close to, Summit County, Colorado.  One of the most famous is Breckenridge, and that is the one that we call home.  However, we plan to talk about more than just Breckenridge.

There are many different towns, each with its own chamber of commerce.  And while they do a great job, we're bringing them all together in one easy-to-find resource, and that is Summit Mountain Weddings.

Nearby towns include Blue River, Copper Mountain, Dillon, Frisco, Keystone, and Silverthorne.  Just beyond the boundaries of Summit County are Georgetown and Silverplume, and to the west, Vail and Beaver Creek.  If you go south you'll head towards Alma and Fairplay, where a lot of folks that work in Summit County live.

Breckenridge is west of Denver, accessible by I-70 and a major air hub, Denver International Airport.   What once was a summer hunting area for the Utes, a Native American tribe with history in the area going back at least 7,000 years, is now a famous Colorado "playground" that offers dramatic mountain landscapes, amazing slope-side lodging choices and quiet out-of-the-way private home rentals.

Once in Breckenridge, the Breckenridge Resort Chamber's "Welcome Center" on Main Street is a great way to find local resources and activity opportunities when visiting. Summertime favorites include hiking, biking, rafting and local art highlights.

There are a lot of wedding websites, magazines and blogs out there that do a fine job of covering the urban metro areas, but we felt that there was an online presence missing for our destination market here in Summit County.  We hope that you enjoy reading about our towns while you plan your wedding.
