Rachel + Josh | Small Summer Wedding in the Colorado Mountains
Their Story
We both went to Olath North High School. I was a sophomore and Josh was my senior crush even though we never spoke. After he graduated, mutual friends got us to hang out. We dated for about a year and then broke up. We would see each other out and there was always chemistry, but one of us was always in a relationship. When the Royals went to the World Series, Josh sent me a Snapchat that led to a long conversation and a few days later we met for drinks—we’ve been inseparable ever since!
Why Did You Choose to have an Intimate Mountain Wedding?
I always thought I’d get married on a beach, but after really looking into it, I quickly decided that it wasn’t what I really wanted. We get engaged in September of 2016 and planned to have our beach wedding in June of 2018. This was just too long. We knew we wanted a small, intimate wedding with an amazing view, so Colorado was our first choice. After seeing Emily’s photos of Sapphire Point, we both fell in love. It’s now our favorite spot that holds such a special place in both of our hearts! We plan to visit at least once a year!
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Was it different for each of you?
{Rachel} My favorite part of our wedding day was our first look. I was so excited to see Josh and show him my dress. Having pictures that truly captured the moment helps me relive it whenever I want!
{Josh} My favorite part of our wedding day was having time alone after our first look while we were taking pictures before our ceremony. I liked having time to talk with just Rachel before we said our vows with an audience. I’ll always cherish this short amount of time with my bride.
What Do You Love Most About One Another?
{Rachel} I love Josh’s heart. He never fails to amaze me on extravagant date nights, or with heartfelt cards, or with random flowers just because he wanted me to feel special. He does everything he can do make me feel loved and that’s something very special. He only wants what’s best for me and is constantly making me smile!
{Josh} I love how much fun I have with Rachel. I love how easy it is when we’re around each other. She makes me laugh with her goofiness and is always smiling. I truly love how much she loves me and her family/friends.
