An Example 4 Hour Mountain Elopement Timeline
An Example 4 Hour Mountain Elopement Timeline
Montgomery Reservoir & Hoosier Pass | Alma, Colorado
Lauren & Cody’s early September mountain elopement was honestly just so beautiful. We were able to explore multiple locations in the Alma area, and it was truly so much fun celebrating with them.
They booked our 4 hour base package, and chose to add on video, floral, an officiant, and a cake. It was a perfect example of fully maximizing the services we offer. Their 4 hour timeline was a perfect fit for everything they wanted to fit in: the last bit of getting ready to their ceremony & family portraits to catching sunset on the mountain top.
We recommend a minimum of 4 hours for most elopements, especially when you plan to have guests. It allows for room for some drive time, if necessary, and ensures nothing feels rushed. Here’s a look at how we spent our time with Lauren & Cody!
3pm - 4pm | Details & prep
3pm - Shanna & Dave to arrive at lodging; shoot details, cake, & prep
3:30pm - Lauren in dress & first look with all the girls.
by 4pm - leave for ceremony location, Montgomery Reservoir.
Please bring everything you need: makeup touch-up; rings; vows; comfortable shoes. No restrooms at this location.
4:15 - 5pm | ceremony
4:15pm - Meet Carey at ceremony site.
4:20 - first look with Lauren & her dad.
4:30 - guests set for ceremony; video set up. L & her dad hang back for aisle walk. Dave to mic Cody & Carey for video.
4:40 - ceremony!
5pm - sign marriage license with Carey. Carey leaves!
5:10 - family & group portraits. Family leaves!
5:30 - 7pm | Portrait Session
Portraits with L+C around ceremony site + surrounding area! Then head to Hoosier Pass to finish portraits for sunset! Reminders: beers cheers & baseball details.
Does that align with how you imagined a 4 hour elopement timeline would look?
As always, it was such a pleasure working with our incredible vendor partners to make Lauren & Cody’s day perfect. We’re always thrilled to provide our photo & video services “in-house” for every single Summit Mountain Weddings from our partner brand, Basecamp Visual.
Their floral design was brought to life by Carla of Garden of Eden. The fall colors were incredible (look at the sunflowers!) & we just love any opportunity to work with her!
Carey, with Wandering Honeymooners, created an incredible ceremony for them. She’s always the most soothing presence for our couples.
We absolutely LOVED their cake by Feather Cakes. One of our favorites!
And finally, though we don’t include hair & makeup services in our packages, Lauren hired a favorite from our list, Weemala Hair & Makeup!
