The best guests at a wedding have four paws and like to eat the bouquet 😂
Definitely just started singing, “All is calm, all is bright...” and then remembered it’s a holiday song...! ⠀
.⠀
Still, though, this was a stunningly windless and warm, sunny afternoon! Just enough breeze to keep that long veil blowing to the side. Just chilly enough to keep our jackets on and merit wearing leggings under her dress. ⠀
.⠀
I loved watching these two solidify their long relationship with such presence and grace. Even in small weddings, hiccups and challenges arise, but once we arrived at their ceremony site, everything fell into place. ⠀
.⠀
I couldn’t be more excited for these two in their new adventures of husband and wife!
The clouds cleared just enough to remind us of the marvels still hidden inside. Usually, there are bigger mountains in this scene. There was a certain peace to this afternoon in the snow, a quiet, subdued calm as vows were exchanged.⠀
.⠀
I welcome cloudy days in a state known for over 300 days of sun. They bring a unique light and story to every day.
Yep. I’ll never get over this beautiful afternoon with these beautiful people. The amount of snow that fell was equal to the amount of tangible joy & love these two emitted! {it snowed *a lot!*} ⠀
.⠀
I know not everybody is always up for standing outside in a huge snowstorm. But these two didn’t stop smiling, crying {happy tears} and giggling the whole entire time. And for good reason - they got married!
The mountains have a lot to say, if you are listening.⠀
.⠀
I knew I wanted to live near the mountains the first time I saw them. Then, I got to live IN them, on them, and life became exponentially more full.⠀
.⠀
They are steady and strong through the ever-changing seasons. The light never hits them the same way twice. And they hold an amazing peace when you start to really explore within them. ⠀
.⠀
One of my brides told me why they chose to marry in the mountains: “I wanted to get married in God’s country.” And if this isn’t it, I don’t know what is.
An oldie, but a goodie. I remember pulling up to this elopement just as the snow began to fall harder. By the time I met up with the couple, the flakes were triple the size and falling with a calm fury.⠀
.⠀
We all took a deep breath and began the ceremony in the heart of Breckenridge. The late afternoon snow had kept everyone else at home. It was silent in town, aside from the vows exchanged on a small bridge.⠀
.⠀
They kissed. They danced. They slipped a few times. They brushed snow off one another in between photos.⠀
.⠀
And she did it all in red stilettos.
What beats dancing on top of the world with your brand new husband?⠀
.⠀
Dancing on top of the world with your brand new husband on THE BEST Colorado-weather-day on record!⠀
.⠀
These two lucked out with a miraculous, clear, still, even warm winter day. Mother Nature was showing off, and we took lots of time to soak it all in!
Those mid-ceremony, "holy moly how is it THIS cold?!" giggles...⠀
.⠀
I'll remember this elopement forever. We got over 18 inches of fresh snow overnight, and it was brutally chilly outside. These southern babes decided to rough it and still exchanged vows outside, overlooking the clouds barely clearing enough to see the ski runs at Breck.⠀
.⠀
We headed to another spot afterwards for a new view. Knee-deep in snow, we all trudged through it to get just the right spot.⠀
.⠀
Did it take me three days to warm up afterwards? Probably.⠀
Did a car get stuck only to blow out the tire shortly thereafter...? We'll never tell. 😉⠀
.⠀
Was it worth it? 100%
