{ Real Mountain Wedding } Aliya + Ben at Blue Sky in Breckenridge, Colorado | Videography by Elegant Productions

Live your dreams.  Then, when it's all over with, remember the moments with a video you can watch over and over again.  Yes, you'll love those still prints that your photographer captured, but having a video captures the sounds, voices and emotions that photos cannot.

If you want to see a teaser video that Erin created for the Barn at 201 N Main, then click here.  Thanks Erin!

{ REAL MOUNTAIN WEDDING } Aly + Matt at Sevens in Breckenridge, Colorado

Looks like Alyson and Matt rolled nothing but lucky seven’s when they chose the intimate and elegant Seven’s Restaurant for their 2011 late summer wedding ceremony and reception!  Seven’s, operated by Vail Resorts / Breckenridge Hospitality is located in the new Grand Lodge at Peak 7, an offering from Breckenridge Grand Vacations, lies at the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 7 at 10,010 feet in the Ten Mile Range of Summit County, Colorado.

If you are keeping your list is less than 120 guests, this venue is the perfect choice anytime of year.  With over 300 days of sunshine and 300” of snow a year, there isn’t  really an ugly day on the calendar in the charming town of Breckenridge. The mountains and vast panoramic views take center stage.

Alyson and Matt got super lucky again when it came to the glorious blue skies and just a handful of clouds that happened to pass by for their ceremony.  (Make  sure you have a back up plan for inclement weather as rain is pretty common every afternoon in the high country in the summer.)

Sophisticated, elegant, classic and stunning are the words that come to mind when I was looking through the hundreds of beautiful photos by photographer Rachel Olsen //     Facebook       Twitter        Website

Rachel says "My goal is to be welcomed into your moments, your world and your lives, in order to create photographs that represent the real you. I strive to capture the emotions, interactions and energy shared between individuals, so that when you look at your images you feel as if they are not only pictures, but are impressions of the feelings and moments you share together.'"

Setting the mood in the warm mountain air were the classical trio that played during the ceremony and cocktail hour on the patio and the ultra sleek and modern floral table arrangements by Breckenridge’s own Petal and Bean florists who also hand made the bouquets and boutonnières.

Alyson, Matt and all of their lucky guests were treated to a wedding that won’t soon be forgotten.  The attention to details weren’t over looked either… from the silver ink handwritten name cards, to the pale shades of yellow and orange piped buttercream frosting on the cupcakes.

With a very clean and serene color scheme of grays and blues, Aly and Matt’s wedding took on a very sophisticated feel.  It wasn’t over done, and as they say, sometimes less is more.  Alyson was simply breathtaking in her strapless gown and her long blond hair gently curled and pulled back.

Looking back on her day Alyson said “I really enjoyed having a moment alone  (with her soon to be husband, Matt) before actually getting married.  It made it much more special in the long run.” She also said that in hind sight she wished that she would have prepared her older, out of town guests for the effects of the high altitude. She said “It was very difficult for me to watch my dad struggle with crappy nights of sleep and breathing difficulties.’

Her best advice to couples about to tie the knot: “ SMILE!!!!!  Be happy cause who cares what goes wrong?   It's just a wedding and if you're happy then everyone else will be.  I took a shot of whiskey before leaving the house where I got ready because I knew this was going to be the best day of my life and I wanted to be super relaxed and enjoy it.....and I was and did.  Who couldn't LOVE getting married in the mountains???”

[HOW TO] share multiple url's using only one link

mtngoat-630-x-420.jpg

It's time to shed old ways of doing things and embrace technology to make our lives easier.  One example is the ability to share multiple links with only one link.  You can make a list of possible florists, caterers and photographers.  You could make another list of airlines that take you to your destination.  Or create another list of links that are of just shoes that you might be needing for your adventure wedding in the Rocky Mountains!

During your wedding planning, you'll be sending numerous emails, making many phone calls, and exchanging a lot of information.  This is a tool that vendors can use to link to past media and press, such as this link http://www.multiurl.com/g/6vJ does for Creative Flowers Inc | Petal and Bean.  Now, most of these links can be found on this page on our flower shop website, but is much easier to use instead of clicking on each link from the web page.

For couples planning their wedding and exploring different lodging options in Breckenridge, and you want to share a list of possible lodging companies, you can end up typing many links into numerous emails.  Do a bit of legwork up front, and use one link to send to your planning team.

You can then navigate the links by a toolbar found in the top left of the screen, or you can use a dropdown menu of the sites sent.  Please visit www.multiurl.com to learn more.

Is wedding technology more confusing than helpful?  If there's technology out there that's easy to use and interesting, please send it our way and we could possibly share it on this blog.  Tell us how you use today's technology to plan your wedding.  Please comment below if you know of any other cool tools we should know about, thanks!

[PLANNING] Time management and problem solving when planning your Breckenridge, Colorado wedding.

IMGP2699.jpg

You've found this blog probably because you are searching for someone to help you plan your wedding or provide a particular service.  We understand that while wedding planning can be very fun, interesting, and entertaining, it is literally a second job.  So, one of the first things you need to do is to determine how much time you can realistically devote to figuring out all the details and following up with all the vendors.  Quickly, time management becomes a priority.

Did you know that wedding planning averages 250 hours while the typical engagement is 16 months long?  In my opinion, that's enough time to overthink and rush things that aren't necessarily that important at that moment. Certain things need to be figured out first, while others can wait.  We'll introduce a few sources for handy checklists and timelines very soon!

All of these new projects take time and energy, but are a lot of fun to research.   But, don't get stuck on one look, color or style of decor.  Your first idea probably won't be the one you'll stick with in the end, so go with the flow and enjoy the creative process because tomorrow you might find something else that will take you in a whole different direction.

There is also the budget that cannot be ignored.  We suggest having a rough idea of what you'd like to spend, but have a minimum and maximum to guide you along and to have some room for flexibility.  This allows for creative ways to stretch and maximize your dollars.

The real trick is making time for it all.  There are many resources, also literally at your fingertips, these days, and this is only one of them, but what makes this site different is that it's the only online resource dedicated to helping families, planners and vendors connect to plan weddings and special events in Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Dillon, Frisco, Keystone and Silverthorne, Colorado.

After buying flowers from countless distributors over the years, we have sourced not only the best flowers, but now know who the best vendors are for our local area that are able to complete the dream team you're looking for.  So, when it comes to your wedding, start to think about what time you have, what priorities you have, and who's going to help you with things get hectic. Half the fun is the imagining all the different possibilities that you could have for your wedding.  You've got the mountains already in mind, and Summit County is a world class year-round destination that is undeniably beautiful, family-friendly and filled with all sorts of activities for all kids of all ages.

We'll be exploring all the different venues, vendors and local attractions that are perfect for weddings, special events, vow renewals and elopements in the Rockies.  This last photo shows the kids at our wedding reception at the Carter Park Pavilion.  We knew we wanted our wedding to be (1) in the mountains and have (2) a lake experience with (3) lots of kids while (4) the family band played.  Those elements were important to us.  What's important to you?

Vendors + Map + Forum + Social = Future weddings in #sumco

vendors_launchblog-600-x-467.jpg

What's #sumco mean?  We'll get to that in a minute.  We are happy to explain the options of this new site for you as an introduction to Summit Mountain Weddings.  We have a great vendor planning page, that shows you all the wonderful options that are available for you to meet your dream team.

We will share descriptions, contact info, social media links, and provide a place for reviews.  Each vendor will have a custom map placement for quick and easy to find reference.

Take it from a local delivery expert, who knows that Google maps can be wrong.  So, we've decided to painstakingly verify that all locations on our map are up-to-date and correct.

Vendor page for Summit Mountain Weddings was envisioned by Stacy Sanchez of Creative Flowers Inc | Petal and Bean in Breckenridge, Colorado.

We know how important it is to arrive at the correct location, on time, with your cargo intact.  Try delivering delicate flowers in the hot summer sun, driving on four wheel drive mining roads to reach the ceremony location.

Click on the map image on the right side bar and you'll see the start of a what will become the go-to-map for this area.

Want to ask a question about your wedding coming up?  Put it out there, and other brides, vendors and helpful locals will jump in and help out with some sage advice.
