The day after the wedding and event rentals.

The-Day-After-the-Wedding-and-Event-Rentals..jpg

A lot of couples are decorating their weddings with a team of bridesmaids and family members, but sometimes forget to think about the day after the wedding and the event rentals. This is an easy one to overlook, however, on busy weekends, some venues have vendors remove all items from the reception room that night. Is that something you want your guests to be doing at 11 o'clock at night? It takes me about an hour to pack everything up and put it in the car. Then, another hour to drive and unpack. Or, if your venue is flexible, you can send some folks over the next morning to deal with boxes, glassware and leftover flowers.

My suggestion to you is to consider a wedding planner, and to make sure that they will return the next day to grab any items left behind. Not all wedding planners will offer this, as they won't always live in the vicinity of the wedding, and need to return home to tend to families. Ask us how we can help fill in the blanks when it comes to the details like this. It's not hard, but it will take time. We can help figure it out.

The Riverwalk Center and the Wedding Pros in Breckenridge

The Wedding Professionals during a speed networking event, hosted by the Breckenridge Resort Chamber at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center.

Today in Breckenridge, I went up to the Wedding Professionals speed networking event at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center.   I met some new folks, two guys that run photo booths, separate companies, that are based in the Vail Valley.  Plus, I got to see local venue managers, a videographer (holding the baby above) and a rental company representative.  These folks made the effort to see who's doing what around town.  And we had two minutes to do it!

The Wedding Professionals during a speed networking event, hosted by the Breckenridge Resort Chamber at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center.

We had our meet up in the Imperial Ballroom, the most popular room at Beaver Run for weddings.  You see, from this room, you have mountains all around you, including the lower slopes of peak 9.  A chairlift out the door makes this venue a no-brainer for a convenient venue for a winter wedding that requires ski-in, ski-out, slopeside and in-town amenities.

The Blue River Plaza is on the other side of the Riverwalk Center. It's a natural attraction that the kids love to walk in, hop from rock to rock and just be kids.

Now that we have another wedding season under our belt, we'll be updating our vendor directory with fresh new options for mountain shin digs.  And, if you are getting married and want some help figuring it all out, please contact us right now!

{ REAL MOUNTAIN WEDDING } Christina + Gabe // A Military Wedding at the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado

An annual winter treat for Breckenridge is to host an international snow sculpting competition that challenges teams to carve square blocks into temporal works of art that last for two weeks.  And just as the blocks of snow hold fine details until they melt away, the details of weddings are forever captured in images.  The photos in today's military wedding are courtesy of Team Girtman of Studio Kiva, who are moving into some new digs in Breck as I write this.

This  mountain bride found a way to incorporate her school spirit into her wedding day!  We love when the couples personalize their event, and there are some great colleges out there that proud students and alumni are working into their event.

This photo shows the girls getting ready in the older side of St. Mary's Catholic church in the historic downtown area of Breckenridge.  There's a newer addition that is much larger that the ceremony was held in.  Smaller weddings can use the older, original structure if they choose.  It has its own charm, for sure, and for the right couple, it'll be the right place.  But, it's the older church that's great for pictures.

This vase arrangement held tall elegant stems called Calla Lilies.  They come in a dark, eggplant color that looks amazing too.

According to weddingdetails.com, "In many ways, the U.S. Military wedding is like any other wedding. The ceremony itself is not a military service but a religious one. What makes it a military wedding is the attire and perhaps some traditions not found in civilian weddings. There is such pomp and circumstance, pageantry and patriotism in these sophisticated rituals."  I looked this up, because I was wondering what a military wedding was all about.  There's also some great information on military weddings on this site as well.

This lucky couple timed it perfectly and were able to use the carved blocks of snow from the snow sculpting championships as their backdrop for a photo session.  Now, those are some wedding photos that you won't get just anywhere.  They even added a new LED lighting system this year and it made the blocks into an amazing night experience as well.

The evening finished off at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center, which is at the base of Peak 9 of the Breckenridge Ski Resort.  This is the place you want to be when you wake up the next day after the wedding.  You'll walk out the door and literally walk a snowball's throw to the lift.  Ask us how we can plan everything you need for you winter wedding at one of the best slopeside wedding venues in the Breckenridge area.

{ REAL MOUNTAIN WEDDING } Karly + Christian // Imperial Ballroom at the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado

This Breckenridge wedding was featured in Brides Magazine a while back, and wanted to make sure that we put it on our blog to share with everyone.  Text excerpts from Lauren Matthew's online article, "Karly and Christian (who's from Argentina) met in Breckenridge, when he was living there on a work visa and she was visiting from Denver one weekend. 'Breckenridge was the place that brought us together,' she says. 'We had to get married there!' "

"I loved the crystal details on my dress," Karly says of her Priscilla of Boston gown. "They reminded me of icicles in winter."  We love that the new mountain bride embraces the elements including ice as being part of the landscape, and therefore an option when decorating your event.

A small, bright yellow church with a red door in downtown Breckenridge was chosen as the ceremony location for this Rocky Mountain bride and her groom.  "The ceremony was held at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, which was built in 1881. 'We loved that the church had been a part of the Breckenridge community for so long," Karly says. "Plus, it was the perfect size for our 70 guests'."

"The groom's family traveled from Argentina for the wedding, so the couple recited their vows in both Spanish and English. The ceremony also included a passage from Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, read by the bride's sisters. 'It reflected the journey Christian and I have taken to be together,' Karly says."

The little ones carry out their roles.

Karly's bouquet was made of purple Vanda Orchids, white Tulips, and Anemones. Christian's boutonierre was made using a  single Vanda Orchid and a Tulip.  Anemones are a popular winter wedding flower for mountain brides in Colorado.

And just like I promised on our Facebook page, here's the answer to what this picture is all about!   "In another Argentinean tradition, charms attached to ribbons were placed between the layers of the wedding cake, which was made by Sugar. "Each single girl pulls a ribbon, and whoever gets the ring charm is the next to marry."

"The couple and their guests donned masks and hats for the "cotillón"—an interval of traditional Latin American merrymaking that takes place around midnight and gets guests energized for the rest of the party. "The DJ played upbeat Spanish music," says the bride. "We had everyone on the dance floor!"  We think adding fun hats and costumes can only add to the fun!

"The reception was held in the Imperial Ballroom at Beaver Run Resort where the tables featured arrangements of crystal–bead–covered branches. The resort catered the buffet–style dinner, which included Thai, Italian, and local Colorado cuisine."  And here is where the crystal and ice elements of the decor can be seen again.  A great way to remind guests that some of the best skiing in the world can be found near Breckenridge and is a great Colorado destination wedding option.

"A Great Time DJs spun music from all over the world, including some Middle Eastern tunes for Christian's dad, who's originally from Egypt."  I would absolutely ask for music important not only to the bride and groom, but to include traditional ethnic songs, dances and old traditions with a new twist somehow.  Let us know if that gets you thinking about how to bring it all together at your shindig.
