Sara + Luke | Early Summer Wedding Near Breckenridge, Colorado
Their Story
Luke and I met on a New Year's Eve Ski trip in 2014 in Breckenridge, CO. We both had a mutual college friend and luckily I got an invite along with 6 other guys! We reunited in Breckenridge March of 2015 on another ski trip, and that's when we both fell for each other. We didn't start dating until May of 2015 and we both knew it was meant to be by the end of June that year. I (Sara) gave up moving to Seattle, WA to move to South Florida to be closer to Luke that August. If that isn't love I don't know what is, haha!!
Why Did You Choose to have an Intimate Mountain Wedding?
I (Sara) wanted to elope to an intimate mountain location, and Luke wanted a huge wedding that included everyone we knew! We attempted to have a big wedding in Georgia, but when that fell through, Luke called me and said "Let's get married in Breck!" We chose Breckenridge because it is where we met and fell for each other. Breckenridge is such a special place to us and we wanted to introduce everyone we love to Breckenridge. We had visited Sapphire Point together every year we were in Breckenridge. We were very familiar with that spot and loved the view it gave us of our favorite mountain town.
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
SARA: I loved having a first look with Luke. I felt like it gave us an intimate moment together before walking down the isle to really appreciate how we both looked and what we were about to do. It was nice having that moment together, just the two of us. It actually helped calm my nerves!
LUKE: My favorite part of the wedding day was walking down the aisle at the ceremony and getting to wait for Sara to walk down. I loved it because we had been planning and waiting for that moment and it was finally time. We were surrounded by everyone we loved so dearly in our favorite place.

What do you love the most about each other?!
SARA: What I love most about Luke is his calm nature and positivity. He is the calm to my storm. Probably the only person I know that rarely gets angry and when he does it lasts all of 5 minutes. Luke always sees the absolute best in all situations. He always sees the best in me, even when I am at my absolute worst. He has one of the kindest hearts and is genuinely just a happy guy. Some days I don't know how I used to go day to day without his constant encouragement and positivity in my life. I am truly so very blessed I got to marry him.
LUKE: I love too many things about Sara to pick just one. And really, a word can't describe what I love about her, it's definitely the feelings she gives me, feelings of bliss, confidence, relief, passion, determination, comfort, curiosity and on and on it goes. Sara makes me a better person, day in and day out. She's always finding ways to challenge me; spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. We have so much in common yet we're so different in all the right ways. She really is my best friend and I love most of all that she's my wife.
If you had the chance to do it all over again, is there anything that you would change? If so, what?
Our wedding day was absolutely perfect (aside from me leaving my bouquet at the rental). The only thing we would've done differently, in a perfect world, was had our dog Mae there with us. We rescued Mae together and would've loved if she could have been there to be a part of the wedding. We just didn't have extra time in our schedule to road trip out to CO.
