Their Story
David and I met in the first grade. We had crushes on each other all throughout middle school until I moved away right before the start of high school. For years, I had always wondered what he had been up to and how he was doing. This was pre-Facebook era so I didn't have a good way to get a hold of him. Ten years after I moved away, we were able to reconnect through my childhood best friend. We went on a double date and from that night, we knew we would get married. I know that sounds cliche, but that's exactly how it happened... Over the next few months, I was reminded that David was the most funny, witty, caring, loving guy I've ever met. I was still living almost 2 hours away and when I would come visit, he would always surprise me with the sweetest gestures... We've been together for 6 years now and have an incredible four-year-old son. David is my soulmate and life partner, and I'm so happy things worked out the way they have. I can't wait for my life adventures with him.
Why Did You Choose to Elope?
When we decided to get married, we knew we wanted our ceremony to be in the Rocky Mountains. It's our favorite place to be, where we can unwind and feel rejuvenated. It only felt natural to officially join our lives in the Rockies. We decided to elope because we didn't want to deal with the extra stress that comes with having lots of guests. We felt like the ceremony would be a little more intimate and special with just the two of us. Plus, the snowfall that started on our walk to the ceremony was an added bonus. Even if I could go back and do things differently, there is nothing I would change. It was our perfect wedding day and Summit Mountain Weddings played a huge role in all of it! We really can't thank everyone enough for making our wedding perfect.
